Before you start
- Files are images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC), videos (MP4, MOV, WebM) or documents (PDF, PPTX).
- There is room in your plan's media storage. Imports count towards it like uploads.
- Pop-ups are allowed for Skylane, because Google and Dropbox open their pickers in a window.
Steps
- Step 1
Open the Media library or the composer
Click Media in the left-hand menu, or open Compose and go to the media area of your post.
Where to find it in Skylane- Media
- Step 2
Choose where to import from
Click Import from Google Drive or Import from Dropbox. If you do not see the buttons, the import has not been switched on for Skylane yet.
Diagram: on the Media library screen, press Import from Google Drive. - Step 3
Sign in and allow access
Google Drive: choose your Google account and allow access. Skylane asks only for the files you pick, not your whole Drive. Dropbox: sign in to Dropbox if asked.
- Step 4
Pick your files
In the Choose files to add to Skylane window (Drive) or the Dropbox chooser, select one or more files and confirm.
- Step 5
Wait for the confirmation
Each file shows a message such as photo.jpg added to your media library when it is ready. It goes through the same checks as an upload.
Common problems
"The picker could not load"
Check your connection, turn off any extension that blocks Google or Dropbox scripts, then try again.
"The Google sign-in window was closed, so nothing was imported"
Click Import from Google Drive again and finish signing in. Allow pop-ups for Skylane if your browser blocked the window.
A file was rejected
The message says why - usually the file type, its size or your storage quota. Remove unused media or upload a smaller file.
