Before you start

  • A connected TikTok account - see Connect TikTok.
  • A video, or photos for a photo post, added to the post.

Steps

  1. Step 1

Open the TikTok settings in the composer

In Compose, tick your TikTok account above the caption, then open the TikTok tab. Scroll to TikTok settings.

Where to find it in Skylane
    1. Compose
    2. TikTok tab
    3. TikTok settings
  2. Step 2

Choose who can see this post

Under Who can see this post, pick one option. The list comes from your TikTok account, so a private account shows fewer choices. TikTok does not allow a default, so nothing is picked for you.

  3. Step 3

    Set what viewers can do

Under Allow users to, tick or untick Comment, Duet and Stitch (photo posts only have Comment). Options you have turned off in the TikTok app cannot be turned on here.

  4. Step 4

    Disclose promotional content

If the post promotes yourself, your business or someone else, switch on Disclose post content, then tick Your brand if you are promoting yourself, Branded content if it is a paid partnership, or both. Branded content cannot be set to Only me.

  5. Step 5

    Confirm the declaration

Read TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation (and the Branded Content Policy if shown), then tick I have read the declaration above and want to publish this to TikTok.

  6. Step 6

    Schedule or post

Click Schedule, Add to queue or Post now as usual. Pre-flight checks tell you if a TikTok setting is missing.

Common problems

"That privacy option is not available for this TikTok account"

Pick one of the options shown under Who can see this post. Private TikTok accounts cannot post publicly.

"Branded content visibility cannot be set to private"

Choose a wider audience than Only me, or switch off Branded content.

The TikTok options never finish loading

Open the TikTok tab and click Try again. If it keeps failing, click Reconnect next to TikTok in Accounts.
