Before you start
- A Google account that is an owner or manager of the Business Profile. See Add an owner or manager to a Google Business Profile.
- A verified location. Google does not accept posts for unverified or suspended locations.
- You are the owner or an admin of the Skylane workspace. Other roles cannot connect accounts.
Steps
- Step 1
Open Accounts in Skylane
In the left-hand menu, click Accounts. Scroll to the Connect an account section, where each network has its own card.

- Step 2
Click Connect locations
On the Google Business Profile card, click Connect locations. If the card says awaiting Google API approval instead, Google has not yet switched on Skylane's access - nothing is wrong with your account, and the button appears as soon as Google approves.

Choose your Google account
On Google's sign-in screen, choose the account that manages the profile, then continue and allow access.
- Step 4
Choose what to add
Back in Skylane, a box called Choose what to add from Google Business Profile appears. Tick each one you want to schedule to - each counts as one social account on your plan - then click the Add button (it shows how many you ticked, for example Add 1 account). Every location the Google account manages is listed with its town or city. Each location becomes its own account in Skylane.

Good to know
- Posts can be an Update (up to 1,500 characters), an Event or an Offer, with one photo and, on updates and events, a button.
- Google often rejects posts with a phone number in the text. Use the Call button instead.
- You can remove Skylane's access at any time from your Google account connections (opens in a new tab).
Common problems
"Google refused access to this business location"
Check you are still an owner or manager of the profile, then click Reconnect.
"This location cannot accept posts right now"

What you can post
- Update - text up to 1,500 characters, with an optional photo.
- Event - a title and a start and end date and time.
- Offer - a title, start and end dates, and optionally a coupon code, a link to redeem online and terms.
- One photo per post (JPEG or PNG, at least 250 by 250 pixels, up to 5 MB).
- A button on updates and events: Book, Order, Shop, Learn more, Sign up (each with a web address) or Call (which uses the phone number on your profile, so it has no web address). Google does not show buttons on offers.
After publishing
Google reviews each post. While it does, the post shows as processing. Once it is live, the post shows a View on Google link. If Google rejects a post, Skylane tells you why it may have happened. Views on Google Search and Maps appear in Analytics, and button clicks show on the post itself.
